The Sanctuary ecosystem

One estate. Multiple systems. One integrated plan.

The Sanctuary ecosystem

Every element,
in balance.

The disciplines that can make up a Sanctuary. Not every project will require every element — each estate is shaped around its land, its residents and the way they intend to live.

The design philosophy

Make resilience
beautiful.

Nothing here announces itself. Protection is built into the fabric of the estate — in the masonry, the planting, the water and the roofline — so it is discovered rather than advertised.

A honey-coloured natural stone estate wall softened with lavender, olives and ornamental grasses in golden late-afternoon light
A wall can be beautiful.
A blackened steel estate entrance gate set between board-formed concrete piers, warmly lit at dusk
A gate can be architectural.
A still stone-lined estate water reservoir catching the late sun, terraced into the grounds below the residence
A reservoir can belong to the landscape.
A stone, timber and glass estate residence with matte black solar panels integrated flush into the roofline at dusk
Solar can join the architecture.
A walled estate kitchen garden of stone raised beds, espaliered fruit trees and an elegant glasshouse in warm afternoon light
Growing can look extraordinary.
